les rencontres informelles de type « salon » de l’europe des lumières étaient un véritable refuge pour la musique, le savoir et l’amitié. nous pensons que ces traditions n’ont pas besoin de rester coincées au xviiiᵉ siècle. chez twisted pearl, on se consacre à faire revivre l’esprit de ces salons à montréal et on sait qu’un flux constant de musique nouvelle est essentiel pour faire vivre une communauté créative. entourés de compositeur·ices talentueux·ses qui intègrent régulièrement leurs œuvres à nos programmes, nous sommes donc ravis de présenter, pour notre dernier concert de la saison, « terminus montréal »,  une rencontre annuelle.

this show, which won 3rd place in early music vancouver’s 2025 emerging artists competition, early music vancouveris reserved entirely for contemporary music composed in various historically informed styles by composers in montréal’s historically informed composition scene.

this concert will feature the winning piece from twisted pearl’s first annual annual international competition for historically informed composition (ICHIC) , the only competition of its type in the world, which exists to encourage the discipline of historically informed composition in young composers from diverse backgrounds.

terminus montréal is both an ending and a new beginning for us. though we get a little nostalgic because it’s our last concert of the year, we’re prepared to return in the new year with fresh tunes that represent the living tradition we live to share with you! relax, have a glass of wine, and experience the bright future of music with us.
