a twisted christmas
Postponed
it turns out that people have been celebrating christmas for a long, long time. not only that, baroque musicians though it was something to make music about, so they did. this program focuses in on the different musics that you might hear leading up to christmas in 18th century europe, such as french “noëls,” light instrumental works that arrange popular christmas tunes, lilting melodies from italy that recall the rocking of a baby’s manger, and a grand cantata by g.p. telemann, for which twisted pearl will team up with the singers of nebulosi cavatelli.
